Check off these important to-do items before you build a new fence.
Make sure you:
1. Know where you and your neighbours stand; know who is paying for what.
2. Ensure the person building the fence is the one who calls the locates for hydro, gas, phone, etc. – the person who calls is the person who is responsible should something go awry, whether or not they made the error.
3. Have all your paperwork, including your Registered Land Survey, ready.
